Our chemistry test bench is an original device designed to study the transfer kinetics of a substance from the water surface into the atmosphere and the aquatic environment in controlled conditions.
A unique device
This system is a compromise between the laboratory and the natural environment as it is designed to recreate the effects of several environmental parameters (water temperature, wind speed, sunshine, surface agitation). It is the first experimental tool to characterise the transfer of a product from the surface to the atmosphere and aquatic environment.
To quickly obtain answers to the following questions:
- Which compartments are affected (air, sea surface, water column or sediment)?
- What are the transfer kinetics in each compartment?
- Which is the predominant process?
- To what risks are the response teams exposed?
