Cedre's 30th anniversary year: a dedicated team at work
This year marked Cedre's 30th anniversary. The key event this year was undoubtedly the fire which broke out in the laboratory on 26th April, affecting the organisation and its activity for all of the second half of the year. Mr François Cuillandre, Mayor of Brest and President of Brest Métropole Océane, took over from Mr Pierre Maille who had been Cedre's President for the past 12 years.
A major prospective study highlighted the growing rate of HNS spills as well as the importance of implementing actions relating to inland waters. An assignment was conducted in Madagascar at the end of the year to assist the local authorities in the assessment of the consequences of the Gülser Ana sinking.
