Cedre open day
4 July 2024
"We would never have guessed there was all that behind Cedre's doors!", remarked several visitors who came for a guided tour of Cedre's facilities during the open day on Wednesday 3 July.
During the open day, visitors attended a presentation of Cedre's missions and activities, a tour of the test tanks and man-made beach, and discovered the different types of spill response equipment: a deep dive into the world of spill response!
For its sixth edition, the Fête de la Mer et des Littoraux organised a month of festivities, from 7 June to 7 July 2024 in France and its overseas territories, to introduce the general public to the maritime world.
In total, 200 sites took part across France and its islands, including 15 in Finistère.
For the first time, Cedre took part in the event by opening its doors to the general public on Wednesday 3 July from 2 pm to 5 pm.
This event is under the patronage of the President of the Republic, with the support of Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the French National Assembly and Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate.
It also benefits from the support of five ministries and all the associations of elected representatives of municipalities, departments and regions.
This year, a number of themes will be addressed: protecting the sea and coastal areas, promoting maritime heritage, in particular lighthouses and museums, exploring coastal paths, raising awareness of maritime careers, an introduction to water sports, safety, surveillance and rescue at sea.
