Cedre attracts Canada's attention!
7 November
On Thursday 7 November, Cedre had the great pleasure of welcoming the Canadian Coast Guard’s Assistant Commissioner Marc-Andre Meunier and Regional Director of Operations Maurice AuCoin.
This visit provided the opportunity to present Cedre's organisation, missions and facilities, in particular its operational assistance mission, analytical capabilities and technical facilities. The CCG and Cedre are bound by a letter of intent.
A few days later, from 18 to 19 November, prior to taking part in Cedre's Technical Day, which focused this year on spill response in polar waters, a delegation from Environment and Climate Change Canada, led by Sonia Laforest, Head of the Shoreline Unit, visited Cedre to learn more about the association's activities and facilities.
These meetings form part of Cedre's regular cooperation with Canadian administrations involved in spill response and environmental protection.
This collaboration has led to the drafting of an operational guide on water pollution by hazardous and noxious substances, the creation of an educational website on this issue, training initiatives and the signing of a letter of intent between Cedre and the CCG.
