Transmission of marine litter monitoring data to EMODnet
2024
As every year, Cedre sent new mid-year monitoring data to the EMODnet (European Marine Observation and Data Network) Chemistry platform, which manages the first pan-European marine litter database.
Cedre submitted the French beach litter data acquired in 2023 by the monitoring network it coordinates. Furthermore, as lead of the OSPAR Convention’s Beach Litter Expert Group, Cedre submitted the 2023 monitoring data for the North-East Atlantic coastline.
The submitted data is standardised, harmonised and validated, and is made available to support European marine environmental policies to assess the status and trends of ecosystems.
