Testing plastic pellet recovery equipment at Cedre

In July, Cedre carried out experiments to test different techniques for recovering plastic pellets from the environment, using its new specially designed facilities.

Several types of vacuum systems (backpack, on wheels, battery-powered, thermal) were assessed to determine their efficiency on different substrates (asphalt, vegetation, gravel, sand, pebbles).

In addition, studies have been carried out to evaluate and optimise the use of screening and flushing techniques. These tests have improved our knowledge of response equipment in case of future releases of plastic pellets into the environment.
