"Oil spill response in ports" training course

Our standard training course on “Oil spill response in ports” was organised on 4 and 5 June for 13 trainees. This course covers the following topics: mitigating spills in ports and harbours, anticipating the fate and behaviour of oil spills, selecting and deploying equipment suitable for use in ports.

Our trainees, from the French NavyBSPP and local authorities, now know how they fit into the overall emergency response organisation in place in France and have concrete and practical knowledge of response strategies and techniques that can be implemented in port environments.

Thanks to this training, they are now capable of being effectively involved in the event of a spill, as well as in developing contingency plans for firstline response.

Fruitful discussions and experience sharing were appreciated all round!
