Negotiating an international legal instrument on plastic pollution

From 28 November to 3 December, Aanchal Jain, PhD student at Cedre and AMURE (Ifremer/UBO), was in Busan, South Korea to attend the 5th session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee  (INC-5) on plastic pollution.

She joined experts and decision-makers from around the globe to discuss the development of a legally binding instrument on plastic pollution.

This major event brought together numerous stakeholders to tackle the complex challenges of marine plastic pollution.

Aanchal shared her expertise in the economics of marine plastics and took part in discussions highlighting the importance of science-based policy solutions.
