International aquatic litter events

Cedre was in Valencia for the annual meeting of the European Technical Group on Marine Litter, jointly chaired by Spain and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

The agenda included work and discussions on the development of indicators and the implementation of the various marine litter monitoring programmes in the European Union in the context of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.

Following on from this meeting, Cedre was invited to share its expertise on plastic pellets during a panel session organised as part of the Marlice conference.

Cedre also took part in an international workshop on litter in watercourses, jointly organised on 23 May by the 4 European Regional Seas Conventions (OSPAR, Barcelona Convention, Helcom, Bucharest Convention), to present the shoreline litter monitoring programme implemented on behalf of the French Ministry for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
