Cedre Open Day
3 July 2024
As part of the Fête de la Mer et des Littoraux, Cedre will be opening its doors to the public on Wednesday 3 July from 2 to 5 pm.
Now in its sixth year, the Fête de la Mer et des Littoraux takes the form of a month of festivities from 7 June to 7 July 2024 in mainland and Overseas France to give the general public the chance to learn more about the maritime world.
A total of 200 organisations are taking part, including Cedre for the first time.
Located in Brest’s port area, Cedre will be presenting its centre of documentation, research and experimentation on accidental water pollution, and taking visitors on a tour of its facilities.
This event is under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, with the support of Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the French National Assembly and Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate. It also benefits from the support of five ministries and all the associations of elected representatives of municipalities, departments and regions.
This year, various themes will be addressed: protecting the sea and coastal areas, promoting maritime heritage, in particular lighthouses and museums, discovering coastal paths, raising awareness of maritime careers, introduction to water sports, safety, surveillance and rescue at sea.
