ANEL Congress in Guadeloupe
3 to 6 December
From 3 to 6 December, Cedre was in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe, to attend the 43rd ANEL Congress, which this year focused on the issues and challenges specific to overseas territories.
Cedre took this opportunity to visit the association CLEAN MY ISLAND, with which we are collaborating on a feasibility study, conducted on behalf of the French Water and Biodiversity Directorate under the French Environment Ministry, into setting up a shoreline litter monitoring network in overseas France.
In addition, based on advice from the Conservatoire du littoral de Guadeloupe (Guadeloupe coastal protection agency), Cedre visited several parts of the Guadeloupe coastline where it observed large quantities of litter, especially on the islands’ Atlantic shores which are particularly exposed to deposits of marine litter.
