On our made-man beach

Cedre has granted the company Deschamps, based in La Couronne, permission to use a section of its man-made beach in order to monitor the evolution over time of a fully biodegradable dune reinforcement system.

The structure of this woven geotextile supplies the dune with sand by letting wind through and trapping the grains of sand. The geotextile is composed of a biosourced material designed by Lorient-based firm Seabird, one of Cedre's partners in the OceanWise project.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the biodegradation over time of both the buried and exposed sections of material.
