Cedre is a State-approved association with a public service mission created on 25th January 1979, as part of the measures taken in the aftermath of the Amoco Cadiz oil spill.

Board of governors

The association is governed by a general assembly of members and a board of governors. The members of the association belong to French Government administrations, local authorities (various levels), public research establishments and private organisations (trade unions, companies).

Cedre is managed by a tripartite board of governors made up of three groups of representatives, the first two of which constitute ex-officio members of the board.

Strategic committee

Cedre's scientific and technical orientations are determined by a strategic committee. This body comprises members of the board of governors and of other structures involved in spill response or related issues.

Cedre's strategic committee is open to the relevant ministries, to organisations and agencies involved in environmental protection, to the oil and chemical industries and to Cedre's other partners. Cedre's strategic committee is chaired by P. Mani.
